With a three-goal lead, Vitoria Guimaraes will be in fine spirits when they head to Mostar to face Zrinjski in the second leg of their Conference League Playoff qualifier on Thursday night. The Noblemen are on the verge of missing out on European competition this season, while the Conquerors are 90 minutes away from reaching the main draw. Here’s our match prediction.

Zrinjski failed to make it out of the group stage of this competition last season and their participation in this year’s edition is hanging by a thread after suffering a 3-0 defeat at Afonso Henriques Stadium last week. 

Despite managing 42% possession in the first leg, clear-cut chances were at a premium for the Noblemen, who managed just four shots at goal, only two of which were on target. 

So far, the hosts have won one and lost one of their home games in this competition, though it is worth noting that defeat was the only home loss Zrinjski have conceded in their last 11 matches in all competitions, with the other 10 all ending in victory. 

Meanwhile, Vitoria enter this match with a comfortable lead and it feels as though it will take a spectacularly poor performance from them to throw away a three-goal advantage. 

In fact, the Conquerors have only lost an away game by three clear goals once in their last 20 games on the road, and that was to Primeira Liga champions Sporting Lisbon. 

The visitors have won their two away games in this competition so far and kept clean sheets in both of those games.
