Zimbabwe aren’t having a great time in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in the CAF region. They have one point from three matches, and a loss to visiting Ghana in the next game will mark the end of their hopes. The southern Africa nation is placed bottom of Group with a point, five lesser than Ghana who are second. Heading to this game they suffered a 3-1 loss away to Ghana leaving them winless in their last eight matches. They’ve actually lost six of the last 10 and failed to score in six of 10 as well. At home, they are winless in the last five matches and failed to score in four. Their only win in the last seven home matches in World Cup qualifiers was against lowly ranked Somalia.

Ghana are looking to keep group leaders South Africa within sight, given only the top team in the group qualifies for the final stage of the qualifiers. The easing of red zone restrictions will work well for the visitors as they will be able to head to Zimbabwe with their Premier League based stars. They have two wins in the three games in this group and will be favorites here looking at the quality in their team. In their last visit to this region, Ghana missed all their Premier League based players and they suffered a 1-0 loss to South Africa. They head out having failed to keep a clean sheet in their last two matches, and as they seek corrections over the same, it will be key to note that they are a better side defensively and in attack than in their opening two group games. They have just three clean sheets in their last 10 matches.
