Zambia vs Sierra Leone Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

Two sides looking for their first victory in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers will meet when Zambia play host to Sierra Leone on Tuesday night in Ndola. The Leone Stars are in third place with one point in the league standings, while Chipolopolo are bottom and yet to get off the mark. Let’s dive into the match prediction.

Zambia got their AFCON qualification campaign started with a challenging fixture away to the Ivory Coast and were unable to overcome the African champions, losing their opening match 2-0 last week.

That result, extended their extremely poor run of form to six consecutive defeats, while they have only won one of their 12 matches in 2024, which was against Malawi back in March (W1 D2 L9). 

Chipolopolo were unable to score a single goal in the recently concluded COSAFA Cup, albeit with a much younger squad, and also failed to win a match en route to exiting the 2023 AFCON in the group stage at the start of this year.

Meanwhile, Sierra Leone played out a fairly dull 0-0 draw against Chad in their opening match, where both sides combined managed only six shots on target across the 90.

The draw was the Leone Stars’ second in succession following a 2-2 draw to Burkina Faso back in June and the side now have a record of two wins, four draws and four losses in their last 10 matches. 

Sierra Leone failed to qualify for the last edition of the AFCON and have only made it to the main draw of Africa’s premier cup competition once in the 21st century.
