Gameweek 4 in the CAF Champions League will see Young Africans taking on Medeama in Dar-es-Salaam on Wednesday afternoon. The hosts are at the bottom of Group D with two points, while the visitors are third with four points. Al Ahly lead the group with five points, and CR Belouizdad are second. These two played out a 1-1 draw in this competition a fortnight ago. The hosts have yet to win a match in the CAF Champions League this season, having drawn with Al Ahly and lost to Belouizdad earlier in the competition. They returned to league action over the weekend and came away with a solid 4-1 win over Mtibwa Sugar, extending their recent record to three matches unbeaten. That result saw them pull within one point of Azam at the top of the Ligi Kuu Bara table, while they also have two games in hand on the current league leaders. Young Africans are unbeaten at home in all competitions this season and have only drawn one of their nine matches while winning the remaining eight. The hosts are the marginal favourites here. 

Meanwhile, Medeama beat Belouizdad 2-1 but lost 3-0 to Al Ahly in the opening weeks of this competition. They come into this match following a 1-0 domestic cup win over Basake Holy Stars, which took them to three matches unbeaten. However, while the visitors have been excelling in the cup competitions this season, their league form has taken a notable dip. Medeama have managed just 16 points from their first 11 games this season which sees them sat in 11th place in the league standings. In addition, they have failed to win their last two away games in all competitions and have lost six of their last eight. Medeama had also lost all three matches on the road in this competition including during the qualifiers.
