Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to take on a stuttering West Ham United side in a huge match for both teams this Saturday at the Molineux Stadium. Both these sides have long been considered top-half teams, but this time they find themselves at the wrong end of the table and will meet in what can only be described as a key relegation battle for both. The hosts will start this match just one spot off the bottom of the table, with only 14 points in 18 matches this season. They are just two points above Southampton at the foot of the league and one behind their opponents. In their last league match, Wolves were held to a 1-1 draw by an in-form Aston Villa and will be hoping that they can push on from that performance and get what would be only their fourth win so far this term. Wolves have only won one of their last six matches and are on a four-match losing streak at home. 

West Ham isn't doing too much better than their opponents this season and is looking like they need to bring in some fresh blood to the side during this transfer window. They are in 15th place, with 15 points, level with Everton in 18th. A win for the Hammers could see them move as high as 14th in the league if other results go their way. However, their performances on the road this season doesn't bode too well for their chances, registering just one win in nine matches. On top of that, they have not won a match, home or away, since August 2022. In their last six matches, West Ham has taken only one point, along with five losses. The one thing that West Ham will have in their favour is that they would have had over a week's rest ahead of this match, whereas Wolves were in Cup action just 72 hours before kickoff.
