Wolverhampton Wanderers have gone on a slump and will be out to stop a three game winless run when they play host to Watford in their next Premier League game. Wolves go into this game placed eighth with 40 points, 21 ahead of relegation threatened Watford who are 19th. The past few weeks haven’t been great for Wolves; they have suffered three straight losses and their top four hopes are slipping away. Their season, built on a solid defensive approach is falling apart and they have managed just a clean sheet in the last five matches. Watford have managed just one win in their last 16 matches and are in real danger of dropping back to the Championship after just one season up. Their only win in the 16 matches was against Aston Villa, who haven’t also been at their best recently. One area they’ve been really poor in is the defence; they go into this game having conceded two or more goals in three of their last five matches. Their situation is further complicated by the fact that they’ve failed to score in five of their last eight matches. Their win over Villa is their only one away from home in nine and they’ve failed to score in three of their last five away matches. In their last meeting with Wolves, Watford suffered a 2-0 loss, and they’ve lost three of the last four meetings.
