Newcastle United are back to Premier League action after midweek European duty and will on Saturday be away to Wolves. The two teams head into this matchday 10 fixture separated by five points on the table with Newcastle sixth and Wolves 12th. Wolves have been in good form lately and are currently on a three-match unbeaten run. They have won twice in this spell with one of those victories coming against Manchester City. Gary O’Neil’s men have won three of their nine matches with a further two ending in a share of the spoils. The Molineux-based side haven’t lost at home to Newcastle in five meetings and have won once. Wolves were 2-1 winners away to Bournemouth last weekend.

Newcastle United are coming off a disappointing defeat in the Champions League. Eddie Howe’s men were defeated 1-0 at home by Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday to suffer their first defeat in the competition. They will seek an immediate response and as they have won two of the last three meetings with Wolves, this isn’t far-fetched. The Magpies have racked up 16 points and have won five of their nine league matches. Newcastle had gone eight matches without defeat before falling to Dortmund and defeated Crystal Palace 4-0 last time out in the league.
