Wolverhampton Wanderers have gone through a torrid period in the past three matches and will be hoping for a better outcome when they host Fulham in their next league fixture on Sunday. Fulham have not had it any better, losing each of their three league matches so far, a run that has left them bottom of the standings, four places below Wolves, who have three points. Wolves started their campaign on a high, convincingly beating Sheffield United 2-0 but they have failed to replicate that in their last three matches. They have lost the two league matches that have come after that opening win, and got eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Championship side, Stoke City. Their most recent performance will surely leave manager Nuno Espirito Santo mad after seeing his side go down 4-0 to West Ham United. The team capitulated in the second half of that game, conceding thrice, and at the end of it, had let in eight goals in three matches, while scoring just one goal. A few key players left the team after last season but that cannot explain the decline at the side that finished seventh in 2019/20. Last season Wolves won just eight of their 19 home matches in the league but that was more than they won on the road and with three home wins in their last five matches, they will be favorites to bag one here. They have three wins in their last five matches against Fulham while each of the last four meetings has produced under 2.5 goals.

Fulham, on the other hand, have not settled in well after promotion and got a stark reminder of the difference in class in the Premier League when they lost 3-0 to Aston Villa in their last league match. The London side is one of the three sides in the league yet to register a point, while they have the leakiest defence, having conceded 10 goals so far. In their three league matches, Fulham have conceded at least three goals in each and manager Scott Parker will want to fix the defence before heading to the Molineaux to face the hungry Wolves. The fact that they have a midweek game before this clash will further complicate issues for the manager, though he is expected to rest key players. Fulham have been the underdogs in this fixture for most of the recent meetings, winning just one of their last nine, and keeping just one clean sheet, which came in their 2-0 win back in 2018 in the Championship.
