After the latest set of Premier League games, Wolves are in ninth place, only behind opponent, eighth placed Crystal Palace on goal difference. Wanderers got their new season off to a bad start losing to Manchester City and West Ham United with seven goals conceded. Perhaps a bit of a hangover from their marathon 2019/20 season that didn't end until August. Since then though they have made good progress up the table. They won at home to Fulham and then went to Leeds United and won 1-0. Their most recent game saw them held to a 1-1 home draw by Newcastle United. They took the lead in the 80th minute but a third straight league win was denied by an 89th minute equalizer. Wolves have only been beaten by Arsenal and Manchester City in their last ten home league matches. Seven of those games have seen under 2.5 goals scored.

Crystal Palace have had an up and down start to the season. It got off to a great start with a home win over Southampton and then a 3-1 away win at Manchester United. Then their unbeaten league record went when losing 2-1 at home to Everton. A 4-0 thumping at Chelsea followed leaving their fans wondering what kind of a season they were going to have. Palace have bounced back though well though. It looked as if they were to going to beat rivals Brighton at home but conceded a 90th minute equalizer. At the weekend, Palace got back into winning ways with a 2-1 victory at struggling Fulham, You can never quite tell what Palace are going to do on their travels. They have beaten the very best away from home but also had poor losses with defeats in five of their last seven away league matches. They have only scored in two of those games so this may well be a low scoring match.
