Wolves take on in-form Crystal Palace in both team’s penultimate game of the Premier League season this weekend. Gary O’Neil’s team lie 12th in the Premier League table on 46 points after 36 games. A run of just one win in their last eight has seen them fail to make much progress up the table. Three home defeats in their last four also tell a tale of problems in front of their home fans. They have conceded an average of two goals per game in their last eight matches, scoring just seven in reply. They didn’t have the best of warm-ups for this encounter either as they were thumped 5-1 by Manchester City last time out in the Premier League, when Erling Haaland struck four goals against the leaky Wolves backline. It promises to be a tricky afternoon for the home fans against their high-flying opponents. 

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner will be delighted with how his team are playing at present. Wins over Liverpool, Newcastle, West Ham and a draw with Fulham were followed with arguably their best performance of the season when thrashing Manchester United 4-0 last Monday evening. From a team close to being embroiled in the relegation battle, Palace are now looking at the possibility of a top-half finish if they can finish the season strongly. A win over Wolves would see them move up at least one place in the table. They have been finding the net of late too, scoring 15 goals in their last six Premier League games while conceding just three in reply. The Eagles at Selhurst Park are finally soaring and it will be interesting to see whether they can continue their excellent form on Saturday afternoon at Molineux.
