Wolverhampton Wanderers had another home win on Wednesday to edge even closer to promotion back to the Premier League. That win took them 11 points clear of second-placed Fulham with four games to go and 12 ahead of third-placed Cardiff City who have a game in hand. Promotion is virtually assured, it's just a question of when the maths add up and the celebrations can officially begin and some disappointing results for their chasers could mean that happens on Sunday. Wolves had a dip in form in February and early March but sorted themselves out and have won five and drawn one of their last six league games. At home they have won five and drawn two in their last seven league games with only one loss in 19 as they march on towards playing in the Premier League for the first time since 2012.

Birmingham City might have been easy pushovers for Wolves a few weeks ago but new boss Gary Monk has worked wonders with them in their fight against relegation to League One. They start the weekend in 20th place and three points above the relegation zone but they still have a fight on their hands to avoid relegation. The Blues won three straight league games without conceding a goal to take them out of the bottom three. Those victories have been followed by a disappointing home draw with bottom of the table Burton Albion and a 3-1 loss away to Bristol City. Birmingham have lost five of their last six away league games and that should become six out of seven as Wolves get the home win in this match.
