Wolverhampton Wanderers will look to make it the magic safety number of 40 points when they take on the high-flying Aston Villa looking to get back into the Premier League top-six. Wolves are 14th ahead of this round with a seven-point cushion over the bottom-three while the visitors are 7th with only goal difference keeping them out of top-six. The hosts aren’t yet mathematically safe but are looking well set to ensure another top-flight season having moved away from the bottom-three. A win here will give them the magic number of 40 points but they are coming off a morale-shattering 6-0 loss to Brighton last matchday. That has overshadowed a four-game run prior that saw them win three matches and move into the safe places. At least at home they won’t fold down meekly as Wolves have won three matches in a row, each time with a clean sheet.

Aston Villa saw their unbeaten run of ten matches come to an end at Old Trafford losing 1-0 to Manchester United last weekend. That hasn’t hampered their chances of a European finish much though, as direct rival Tottenham have also lost meaning they are behind only by goal difference. Unai Emery’s side have been one of the form sides still, having won six of their last eight league matches with the loss to United the only blot. With five of those wins coming via a clean sheet, they could be looking to get back to their defensive best and revive their European charge. Yet, it was a 1-1 draw the last time these sides met in the league and the hosts could once again frustrate them.
