Borussia Dortmund can close to within a point of leaders Bayern Munich if winning at Wolfsburg. They go into the weekend in second place, while their opponents are in sixth, the final Europa League qualifying position. Dortmund had a convincing 4-0 home win over Schalke 04 last weekend but are still four points behind Bayern Munich. They are in top form with five straight league games, won by an impressive 13-1 aggregate score. If they are to win the title, their away form has to improve with four defeats already this season. They have shown recent improvement though winning their last three on the road.

Wolfsburg may be sixth but that’s 11 points behind fifth placed Bayer Leverkusen. That means their target for the rest of the season is to maintain sixth place and head into the Europa League again. Their lead over seventh is two points but that is in danger with them having to take on Dortmund this weekend. They are unbeaten in their last seven league games and four of those have ended in victory. Last weekend saw them get a 2-1 win away at Augsburg. It wasn’t the most convincing performance though and their winner came in the 90th minute. Only four of their 13 home league games have been won with six drawn. Dortmund are the form side here and can get the win to keep the pressure on Bayern Munich
