Mainz will be looking to complete their Bundesliga survival push by avoiding defeat at Wolfsburg on Saturday. While 12th placed Wolfsburg are already safe, Mainz, in 15th spot with 32 points remain in the chase for safety. The hosts start this game in 12th place on 37 points. A place in Europe may be too far for them but mathematically, a top-half finish is achievable. Their recent rise was checked by former champions Bayern Munich in the last game, as they suffered a 2-0 loss. That result denied Wolfsburg a fourth straight win and was the second time in eight matches that they failed to score. Finishing their season with a home game will be very welcome though. Wolfsburg won their last two home matches, and will be confident coming here, backed by their fans.
