Wigan vs Bristol City Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

The past few seasons have seen Wigan becoming a bit of a yo-yo team. They keep getting relegated to League One, immediately get promoted back again and then promptly get relegated again. Last season saw them win League One and they have shown signs that the yo-yo string has broken and relegation doesn't look likely. They start the weekend in seventh place in the table only out of the play-off places on goal difference and just two points off the automatic promotion places. Tuesday night saw beat Hull City 2-1 at home. That's their third home win of the league season with the other game ending in a draw. They only have one away win though so that might hinder their promotion charge.

Bristol City were front-runners last season but after reaching the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup their league form suffered and they failed to make it into the play-offs. They have made a strong start to the new season and begin the weekend in fourth place a point ahead of their opponents and a point off the automatic promotion places. That's not bad considering they didn't win any of their opening three league games before beating QPR and going on to win four league games in a row. That winning streak ended when they lost 4-2 at high-scoring West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night. Bristol City have only won two of their last 16 away league games and with Wigan stgrong at home, the tip here is for a narrow Wigan victory.
