Third placed Western Sydney Wanderers host second place Adelaide United as the A-League resumes. A home win will see the Wanderers move into second above their opponents. However a win for United takes them to within a point of leaders Melbourne City albeit from two games more. Western Sydney Wanderers have won three of their last four A-League games, all to nil. The other saw them lose away at Perth Glory. Six of their ten home league games have been won. Only six goals have been conceded, the best home defensive record in the A-League. Three of the last four have been won to nil. Their defending wasn’t so hot when playing Adelaide away in February. They led 3-2 but needed a last-gasp goal to grab a 4-4 draw.

Adelaide United are the form side in the A-League. A form table for the last ten league fixtures has them five points clear at the top. They have scored 13 goals in their last three games and last time out, beat Wellington Phoenix 5-1 at home. They’re not that great at keeping clean sheets though and have seen both teams score in each of their last nine matches. Only three of their 11 away league games have been won with five draws.
