This is a crucial game for West Ham United who have slipped to 11th in the Premier League. They are two places behind their opponents Sheffield United but only trail them on goal difference. The Hammers had been as high as third in the table but a run of one point from three games has seen them slide out of the top ten. All is not lost though because they are only five points off fourth place. They need to get back in winning ways though as there are only four points between them and the relegation zone. West Ham had been in good form but recently have drawn at Bournemouth, lost at home to Crystal Palace and last weekend were defeated 2-0 at Everton. Home form has seen them lose twice so far but they did beat Manchester United and Norwich City.

Sheffield United moved up to ninth in the table after a 1-0 home win over Arsenal on Monday. They have won three, drawn three and lost three so far on their return to the Premier League. If they can keep that form up, then another season in the top flight looks possible for them. Nine games have only produced 15 goals so far, so this might not be a goal feast. Their last six games have all had under 2.5 goals scored in them. Away from home, the Blades have won one (at Everton) and drew three with an average of two goals a game. With West Ham not firing at the moment and the visitors playing a succession of low scoring matches, go for under 2.5 goals here.
