West Ham United will seek to get over their League Cup disappointment when they host Manchester United next in the Premier League. The two sides are separated only by a point heading into this match with United in seventh edging eighth-placed West Ham. West Ham United were bundled out of the League Cup in midweek by Liverpool who pummeled them 5-1 away from home. It was the second time in 10 days that David Moyes’ men had conceded five goals. However, the gaffer did alter his side a little and gave a breather to some of his starters. The loss ended a two-game winning run but as they are home here, they will be confident of getting back on the horse. West Ham, who sit six points from the European places, haven’t lost at home since the start of last month.

Manchester United are deeply struggling with a lack of consistency and only once have they won consecutive matches in the last two months. This is a stretch of 12 matches and half of those have ended in defeat. Erik ten Hag’s men will hope now that they are out of Europe, concentrating on the league will see their fortunes change. The Red Devils haven’t won in three outings nor have they scored in this period. They drew 0-0 with Liverpool last time out and though it wasn't a win, it was a hugely positive result for them. United had lost twice heading into the match and were coming up against one of the most proficient sides in the league. The visitors have won three of the last four meetings with West Ham and this will work in uplifting their confidence levels.
