Ninth-place West Ham United face 18th-place Luton Town in a game that has far more importance for the visitors than the home side. West Ham fans will know that this is their final home game under David Moyes, as he will leave the club at the end of the season. The home side have suffered a poor run of form of late, conceding five goals twice in their last two away games and with just three wins in their last 17 League games, they have dropped out of contention for Europe and could finish in the bottom half. Moyes won’t want his tenure at the London Stadium to end with a whimper. It is going to be interesting to see what kind of performance he can get from his players after their 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Chelsea in their most recent Premier League encounter.

For Luton Town manager Rob Edwards, it is a day of reckoning. If Luton Town lose, then they are almost certainly relegated. They have to better Nottingham Forest’s result at home to Chelsea in order to stand a chance of staying up. Even against a West Ham side in poor form, that looks a big ask for a Luton team that have been struggling away from home of late. On the plus side, Edwards will know that only a win will likely put real pressure on Forest in that final game of the season next weekend. As such, the visitors will be even more focused on going forward and attacking their opponent than they have been at other times this season. That should make for a typically action-packed affair, especially given that Luton Town games have not been short of goals at both ends over the entirety of the Premier League season.
