West Ham United have the advantage of two extra days’ rest before they host Liverpool in the next round of matches in the Premier League. Liverpool are fourth in the standings with 37 points and West Ham fifth with 35 points. Hosts West Ham have not lost in their last eight matches, and six of them are wins. The London side has hit top form and can dream of a top four finish a season after struggling to avoid relegation. In their last 15 matches they have 10 wins and just two losses. They have scored 11 goals in their last five matches and conceded just three and at home they are unbeaten in the last five. Being at home, West Ham will hope to add on Liverpool’s woes. They however don’t have a very good run against Liverpool, with an eight-game winless run. Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard is on his way to West Ham United and should he feature here, will boost their attack.

Liverpool finally came alive in the Premier League in 2021, with a 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday. That ended a run of three straight losses and was also the first time in 2021 they scored a league goal. It has been tough for the reigning champions, who now have one clean sheet in six matches and the win in London was also their first in six league matches. The Reds have suffered partly due to injuries to key players and it will not be any better against West Ham. Fabinho was ruled out just before the Spurs game then Joel Matip was withdrawn at half time with a reported ankle injury. They still won convincingly and they will be hoping for the same on Sunday. Liverpool have one loss in eight away league matches and are on three straight wins over West Ham United.
