West Ham United's first European game since winning the Conference League will be at home to Backa Topola in the Europa League. The two sides have both been drawn into Group A alongside Freiburg and Olympiacos. The Hammers wouldn't have been in this competition if they hadn't won the Conference League last season as they finished in the bottom half of the Premier League. Most of last season was spent winning games on a Thursday night and battling relegation at the weekend. This time it could be a different story in terms of the Premier League with the Irons having made a confident start to the season. Only Manchester City have been able to beat them. The loss of Declan Rice has barely affected them at all with some excellent replacements having been signed. Their opponents are in the group stage of a European competition for the first time and this game could well be a baptism of fire for them.

West Ham United's best signing in the summer has definitely been James Ward-Prowse. The Englishman has five goal contributions at West Ham in five matches already.
