West Ham United are fifth in the Premier League and only a point outside the Champions League places. They are only a point clear of their opponents Crystal Palace who are ninth in the table. West Ham lost 5-0 to Manchester City on the opening day of the season but since then have won three and drawn three and they look a side that could well mount a challenge for a top six place. The Hammers are prone to going through a bad patch (or two) during the season, but have avoided that so far this term. Three of their next four games are at home and with their opponents being Crystal Palace, Sheffield United and Newcastle United, their stay in the higher realms of the Premier League could last a while. Since the opening weekend loss to Manchester City, West Ham have won both of their home fixtures beating Norwich City and Manchester United.

Crystal Palace have made a good start to their season with 11 points from six games. It didn't quite begin that way though with no goals and only a point from their first two league games of the new season. Then they got into gear with a surprise win at Manchester United and home victory over Aston Villa. That run of form was derailed when losing 4-0 at Tottenham but since then they have drawn with Wolves and beaten Norwich City at home. They lack consistency and have only scored six league goals. This will be tough and the tip is for a West Ham home win.
