West Ham move to the Olympic Stadium next season and would love to have European football to play there. At present they are sixth in the table and only six points off the top four. Current form is good with only one defeat in their last ten Premier League games and that was away at Newcastle. Home form is strong with a recent 2-2 draw against Man City and wins over Southampton and Liverpool. After starting the season with two straight home defeats they've since won four and drawn five. Aston Villa got a thrashing by Manchester City at the weekend losing 4-0 at home. That's hardly going to do their confidence any good and it ended a run of five games without defeat, though two of those had been against League Two side Wycombe Wanderers. The only league win they've had since the opening day of the season was the recent home win over out-of-form Crystal Palace. Villa are still ten points from safety and the January transfer window hasn't seen a rush of signings trying to spark a revival. West Ham can get another home win here and hammer another nail into Villa's coffin.
