Gamweek 24 in the Championship will see West Bromwich Albion taking on Norwich City at The Hawthorns on Boxing Day. This is a crucial matchup in the race for the playoff spots between the hosts in fifth and the visitors in eighth. After winning four of their five matches in November, West Brom have experienced a slight downturn in form this month. They were beaten 1-0 by Middlesbrough over the weekend, marking their third loss in their last five. Over that period, the only win they managed was against bottom club Rotherham United on December 12. Those results leave the Baggies on 36 points, nine points behind Southampton in fourth place. In contrast, Norwich City had a very poor November month but have turned it around since returning from the international break. They secured a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the weekend, extending their recent run of results to five matches unbeaten, including three wins and two draws. Notably, the Canaries scored two or more goals in four of those games. Norwich are now on 34 points, just two behind their opponent, which means that a victory in this match will see them leapfrog the Saints in the league standings. However, their away record suggests that winning this match will not be easy for the visitors. Norwich have only won three of their 11 away games this season while drawing three and losing five. They also lost the last match against this opponent 2-1 and are winless in their last four against them.
