West Brom vs Newcastle Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup

The 2005/06 season was the last time Newcastle United reached the FA Cup quarter finals. They bid to get there again when traveling to the Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion for this fifth round tie. West Brom are a point clear at the top of the Championship and will be hoping to face Newcastle in the Premier League next season. They had been on a run of five wins and a  draw before losing at home to in-form Wigan Athletic at the weekend. To reach this stage of the competition, West Brom have beaten Charlton Athletic and Premier League side West Ham United, both 1-0 and away from home. 

Since that quarter final 14 years ago, Newcastle have never made it past the fourth round until this season. They have had a struggle in doing so with replays needing in both the third and fourth rounds, both against League One sides. They drew at Rochdale in the third round before beating them at home. Then Oxford held them to a draw at home before United beat them in the away replay after extra time. Newcastle were held to a home goalless draw by Burnley on Saturday leaving them 14th and only five points above the relegation zone. Over 90 minutes they have gone seven games without a win and are struggling for goals. United have only scored in one of their last six matches, that being the away replay at Oxford United. West Brom can cause the upset here and reach the quarter finals.
