West Bromwich Albion will give another push at survival on Valentine’s Day when they host Manchester United in the Premier League clash at the Hawthorns. The hosts go to this game placed 19th with 12 points while United are second with 45 points. West Brom have managed just one win in their last 14 matches and head to this clash winless in the last five. They have the worst defence in the league, having conceded 54 goals so far and haven’t been much better in attack. Their goal tally of 18 is only better than three teams, and should they drop points in this game, they could drop to the bottom of the league standings. The Baggies have conceded two or more goals in the last nine matches, though they have scored in five of their last seven matches. The 2-0 loss to Tottenham in their last match, was West Brom’s fourth in five matches and they’ve conceded 13 in the last five matches. At home, in the Premier League, West Brom have failed to score in four of the last five but have conceded 19 goals in the last five matches there.

Manchester United, on the other hand, registered their second win in five matches last time out. It wasn’t an easy one as they dug deep to beat West Ham United 1-0 in the FA Cup fifth round tie. United have the best attack in the league, with 49 goals, but the poorest defence in the top nine, having conceded 30 goals. They are five points behind league leaders Manchester City even after playing a game more. With three clean sheets in the last four matches, United hope to stroll here after a tough run out in the last few matches. They will be gutted by the 3-3 draw with Everton and feel they should have beaten Arsenal in the earlier 0-0 draw. Paul Pogba is out of this game with a thigh injury, but he won’t be missed much by the team that has an 18-match unbeaten run away from home in the league.
