Fifth placed West Bromwich Albion host Leeds United on Friday. It's a vital game for Albion who are six points and a place behind their opponents. West Brom will want to get a win here but definitely not lose it. Doing so would make earning an automatic promotion spot this season even more difficult. At present, they are 13 points adrift of second place and only three above seventh. Boxing Day went well for the Baggies with a 1-0 home win over Norwich City. Only one of their last four league games has been lost, a 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough. The goals haven't really been flowing in their games with the last four being played all having under 2.5 goals scored in them. Home form for West Brom has seen them win seven of their 12 games in the Championship. Only one of the last three has been won and three of the last four at the Hawthorns have seen under 2.5 goals scored.

Boxing Day wasn't good for Leeds United with them being beaten 2-1 at Preston North End. That defeat saw them lose third place in the table at Southampton. It was disappointing after a highly impressive 4-0 home win over second placed Ipswich Town last Saturday. After Tuesday's loss, the Whites are seven points behind second place in the Championship and can't let that gap get much wider. Away form is a concern as they come into this game hoping to avoid a third successive defeat on the road in the Championship. Just one of their last four away league fixtures ended in victory.
