West Brom vs Brighton Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in FA Cup Predictions
Brighton and Hove Albion are in good form at present and now turn their attention to the FA Cup. They travel to Championship side West Bromwich Albion, who are struggling to get wins at present. Brighton have reached an FA Cup quarter final and semi-final in the past four seasons. They won't play a full strength side at the Hawthorns but will be wanting another good FA Cup run this season. Albion are ninth in the Premier League with seven points from their last three games. 12 away games in all competitons this season has only seen them lose one game over 90 minutes. That was at Aston Villa, though they did eventually lose a penalty shoot out at Leicester City in the EFL Cup. Their most recent game saw them win 3-2 at Everton. These two sides met in the 2018/19 FA Cup with Brighton winning 3-1 after extra time in a replay, after being held to a draw at home.
West Brom are fourth in the Championship and four points behind the second and final automatic promotion spot. Current form isn't great though with only two points from their last three league games. They had to come from behind to get a draw in their last match. They trailed Cardiff (who Brighton beat in the EFL Cup this season) 1-0 before getting a second half equalizer. Two Albion players were sent off in that match. West Brom have been having trouble scoring goals in recent games. Just two in the last four league games, both scored by Callum Robinson. They haven't scored a goal in the first half of a home game in the last five played and all of those have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. They too are likely to make changes for this game and the tip is for Brighton to get the away win.
