West Bromwich Albion resume the season in second place and looking good for promotion. They look for three points at home to local rivals Birmingham City who are in 16th position. Albion are a point behind leaders Leeds United but six clear of third placed Fulham and with a much better goal difference. March saw them fail to win either of their last two games, surrendering top spot to Leeds. They have won eight home league games this season but drawn seven. Only two of their last eight home league games have ended in victory with no goals scored in the last two. Seven of the last eight at home in the Championship have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. Their run-in is a bit tricky and they still have to play Fulham at home, so they will want as many points as possible before that July 14 clash.

Birmingham City are eight points above the relegation zone and only nine behind the final play-off position. They would be a lot closer to the play-offs but for drawing so many games, Four of the last five have ended that way and three of the last five on the road. They had been unbeaten in 13 league and cup games before being knocked out of the FA Cup by Leicester City. It’s seven away league games without defeat for them but they need to start getting more wins if they want promotion. This won’t be an easy one for them and the suggested bet is on under 2.5 goals being scored.
