Each of Aston Villa’s last four matches has produced over 2.5 goals. The good bit is that the team has scored in all but in just two matches they shipped in seven goals – in a 4 – 2 derby win over Birmingham City and a 5 – 5 draw with Nottingham Forest. To their credit, Villa have scored 17 goals in the last five matches, and thus carry a +10 goal difference from the last five matches alone. They walk into this clash straight after a morale boosting 3 – 0 win over promotion contenders Middlesbrough and they will be buoyed by the fact West Brom could only manage a 1 – 1 draw with lowly placed Brentford in their last match. Tammy Abraham will be the man with all the focus once again after scoring seven goals in the last four matches for Aston Villa and the team will also look up to him for the goals, as he is expected to lead the hunt, having netted 11 goals so far in the season. West Brom will however not be an easy opponent as well; they have not lost in the last four outings and had a three – game winning run before getting stopped with the draw in their last match. West Brom have not been as prolific in front of goal like Aston Villa in the past few games and also, they have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 12 matches and meeting a team with 17 goals in the last five matches doesn’t sound so good for West Brom. While they have picked just one win in their last four home matches, all in the Championship, Villa have picked impressive back to back 3 – 0 wins away to promotion contenders Middlesbrough and Derby County and will be keen to add West Brom to that mix. None of the last five meetings between the two sides has produced over 2.5 goals while each of them has managed two wins in the last five meetings and in the 113 meetings in history, West Brom have 37 wins and Villa 48.
