West Brom vs Arsenal Prediction & Betting Tips - Carabao Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in Carabao Cup Predictions
West Bromwich Albion have a chance to extend their good start to the season when they host an off-form Arsenal side in the second round of the League Cup. The two sides had poor campaigns by their standards, in the Premier League last season but West Brom, who were relegated, have had a flying start to the new campaign. They go into this game on three straight wins, and are unbeaten in their last eight matches. The Baggies have five clean sheets in their last eight matches and are currently joint top of the Championship standings. In each of their last five matches, they’ve scored two goals or more and each one of these has seen over 2.5 goals scored. They get to this game on the back of two wins in two home games, and having scored seven goals in that period. Competitively, this season, West Brom have played four games, winning three and scoring 11 goals, the most recent, a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers. Head to head, West Brom have no win in the last four matches against Arsenal, losing three.
The baggies won’t have a better time to try and end their bad run against Arsenal. They meet a very poor Arsenal side that their recent opponents have had an easy time to curve open and also defend against. Arsenal are coming from yet another defeat, this time to a much superior Chelsea side, that being their sixth straight winless game. They’ve lost five of the six and go into this game on four straight losses, and having conceded twice in five of the six matches. The Gunners are really short in defence, and even poorer in attack, despite the immense talent at the team. They’ve failed to score in their last three matches and now have massive injury worries. Gabriel Martinelli and Kieran Tierney limped off the Chelsea game, and join Gabriel Magalhaes and Thomas Partey in the treatment room. Ben White and Alex Lacazette are reportedly out after testing positive for covid and there’s really little to celebrate at the team. Away from home, they are winless in four and have no clean sheet in five.

Our West Brom vs Arsenal Prediction
West Brom may be playing in a lower league but they get here as the favorites. After a poor finish to last season, they’ve made changes and the results are flowing; they are scoring a lot and are strong in attack. That is what will make the difference here, as they meet an Arsenal side short of confidence and very poor defensively. Arsenal have some of the best forwards too, but haven’t had the right touch in attack too and they are rightly the underdogs going to this game. In West Brom’s form, back them to win.
