Both Werder Bremen and Hannover 96 had disappointing seasons last term. Werder Bremen were relegated from the Bundesliga and Hannover had a poor season in the second tier, finishing 13th, just 11 points away from the drop zone. They’ve conceded at least two goals in each of the other three but they’ve scored in each of their last five matches, managing two or more goals in three of them.

Hannover 96 are coming from a winless run of four matches and in their six preseason matches, they’ve managed just one win. They have defensive issues to address going into this game though, having managed just one clean sheet in their last 19 matches.
