Watford vs West Brom Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Devesh Jaganath | in Championship Predictions
Watford and West Bromwich Albion will lock horns this Monday at Vicarage Road with both sides looking to take a step closer to securing a playoff spot in the Championship race. The hosts currently occupy the sixth and final playoff spot with 47 points in 32 matches, just one point above Milwall in seventh and 14 behind Sheffield in second place. In their last match, Watford managed to hold runaway leaders Burnley to a credible 1-1 draw; however, it did mark Watfords fifth consecutive match without a win, including four draws and a loss. Watford’s form at home has been slightly underwhelming, with a record of seven wins, four draws, and four losses, but they do come into this match having not lost to this opponent in their last four meetings and will be confident that they can extend that record with another solid display at home.
The mid-tabe of the Championship is very tight, with just three points separating the current team in fifth from the team in tenth. West Brom holds that tenth spot currently, with 45 points in 31 games, meaning that a win in this match will take them above Watford on the league table. The Baggies also played out a 1-1 draw in their last match to Blackburn, who is also firmly in the hunt for a playoff spot. That was West Brom's only draw in their last six matches, along with three wins and two losses. On the road this season, Blackburn hasn’t been great, recording five wins, four draws, and six losses in 15 matches. This could be a difficult evening for West Brom, and they would probably be reasonably satisfied if they were to come away with a share of the spoils in this one.

Our Watford vs West Brom Prediction
This is a difficult one to call with two sides that are not in the greatest form of late. It’s a high-stakes match that could have a major impact on the playoff hopes of both sides, and should be a tight match that neither side will want to lose. A single goal could win this one, while a 1-1 draw wouldn’t be a surprise either. Therefore, our Watford v West Bromwich Albion prediction is under 2.5 goals.
