Watford plays host to Sheffield United at Vicarage Road for these teams opening match in the Championship. When this match begins both teams will be three points behind the leaders and will be desperate to win to also go joint top of the table. The home team had a horror season in the Premier League last season and eventually got relegated, ending a massive 15 points behind from safety. Watford have reacted to their relegation by appointing a new manager in Rob Edwards. He is more than 30 years younger than the teams two previous managers and it is hoped he bring new, fresh ideas to the club. Watford have had a mixed bag of results in pre-season with just the single win to go with two draws and two losses. Sheffield United warmed up for this match with a 2-1 loss to Barnsley in their last match which was their third loss in four matches.
