Watford's unbeaten run in the Championship ended on Saturday with a 2-0 away loss at leaders Leicester City. They are down in 15th place and host Norwich City who are 13th in the table. The Hornets had been unbeaten in six league games before being beaten at the weekend. They return to Vicarage Road looking to get back into winning ways. Although only 15th in the table, Watford are still just seven points behind the final promotion play-off position. They are unbeaten in their last three home league fixtures. Only one of the previous five had been won at Vicarage Road before this improvement in form. A home win over Sheffield Wednesday was followed by a 2-2 draw with Millwall. It took a 92nd minute equalizer to rescue a point for the Hornets. It was far more conclusive in their last home league fixture, a 5-0 thrashing of struggling Rotherham United. That was their fourth home win in the Championship this season with only two losses and eight goals conceded.

Norwich City are a couple of points ahead of their opponents and only five behind the promotion play-off positions. Saturday saw them beat struggling QPR 1-0 at home, their second straight win in the Championship. The Canaries won their last Championship away league fixture at Cardiff City. That was only their second away league victory of the season. Before that win in Wales, they had earned just a single point from their previous five away league fixtures. It looked as if another loss was on the way as they trailed Cardiff 2-1 going into the 84th minute. Improving their form on the road is vital if they want to get into the promotion play-off positions. 30 league goals have been scored by Norwich but 32 conceded.
