One of the teams that finished the weekend happiest is Everton, who rose out of the relegation zone after a win over Leicester City. They are however not out of the woods yet, with a league game away to Watford up next. Everton will step out for this game, placed 16th with 35 points while Watford are19th with 22 points. Watford’s relegation was confirmed after their recent 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace which was their sixth straight loss and the fifth time in 10 matches that they failed to score. On a somewhat positive note, the defeat was the third time they conceded less than two goals in the last 10 games but they have no clean sheet in the last nine matches

Everton are coming from a second straight win and a third in five matches after beating Leicester City 2-1. This run is really crucial to their survival race and it is in matches that were termed tough that they’ve amassed wins – against Manchester United, Chelsea and Leicester City. The biggest concern from their win over Leicester City will be the injury to Yerry Mina but after their recent heroics, Everton should surely be looking at this as a game they can win. The Toffees suffered a 5-2 home loss to Watford in the first leg but here the tide is different. The fact that they play days before Burnley should give them a good cushion if they win and they should really make their game in hand count, being just a point above the red zone.
