Wales - Turkey: Form Analysis
Wales have to win here and hope that Croatia in second place, don’t get the three points also on Tuesday against Armenia. Robert Page’s men trail Croatia by two points going into the final round of fixtures. The Dragons had fate in their hands coming into this November international break. But a 1-1 draw away to Armenia on Saturday changed that as it allowed Croatia to leapfrog them in the pecking order. Though disappointing, the draw in Yerevan extended their current unbeaten run to five matches. It is the longest they have gone without defeat for more than a year. Wales have won three of their seven qualifiers and have accumulated 11 points. If qualifying automatically proves to be beyond them, Wales still have the playoffs as a last result. Tuesday’s hosts qualified for the playoffs via the Nations League.
Turkey have already qualified and will be seeking to cement top spot with this match. Vincenzo Montella’s men secured their place in Germany in the last international break. Turkey have won five of their seven fixtures in Group D and have amassed 16 points. They sit three points above their closest challengers and are five ahead of Wales. The Crescent-Stars won 2-0 in the reverse match with Wales back in June. That win was part of their current five-match unbeaten run in these qualifiers. Turkey are coming off a morale-boosting 3-2 win over Germany in a build-up match played over the weekend in Berlin.

Wales & Turkey Squad Analysis
Wales have several absentees for this match due to injury and suspension. Captain Aaron Ramsey hasn’t been available for this November window due to a knee issue. Defender Chris Mepham is out of Turkey’s visit due to suspension. Harry Wilson wasn’t on the scoresheet against Armenia but he remains Wales’ top scorer in these qualifiers with three goals. Together with Kieffer Moore and David Brooks, they are again expected to line up in attack.
Turkey will also be without their captain for this match. Hakan Calhanoglu wasn’t included for the November fixtures as he is ill. Salih Ozcan, Baris Alper Yilmaz, and Kerem Akturkoglu were all introduced from the bench against Germany. The three could return to the starting fold here as the visitors look to end their campaign on a high. Turkey have had 11 players score for them in these qualifiers with Akturkoglu and Cenk Tosun bagging two each.
