Wales vs Korea Republic Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Sridhar in Football Predictions
With an eye on improving their confidence for the upcoming Euro qualifier, Wales will take on South Korea in an international friendly. This match will be played at the Cardiff Stadium in Cardiff on Thursday. This is the first-ever match between these nations and comes in the backdrop of the poor form of Wales in the Euro qualifiers. They are currently fourth in their group D table with only four points from four matches. That is two points adrift of the top-two automatic qualifying spots, although they have played at least one game more than the two teams above. That puts them in need of improving their form for the match against Latvia next up, so Wales will be looking at getting back on track. They have lost four of their last six matches including friendlies, and have won only once during the sequence. Going further back, they have only one victory across 12 matches and have drawn three while losing eight during the sequence.
South Korea only have World Cup qualifiers to look forward to, in the month of November, so for now it would be about building up to that competition. Friendlies against Wales and Saudi Arabia in this month are about finding their rhythm under new coach Jurgen Klinsmann. The German legend took charge after their exit in the 2022 World Cup, but started with a 2-2 draw against Colombia followed by a 2-1 loss to Uruguay. That was followed by a 1-0 loss to Peru and a 1-1 draw against El Salvador. Despite this poor form, they have remained a tough team to beat in friendlies. Those two losses remain their only defeats across ten friendlies, winning four and drawing four – a form that the Koreans would be keen to reprise here.
