Wales - Latvia: Form Analysis
Wales are coming from a 1-1 draw with Croatia in their opening qualifier and they will be happy with the point earned away from home as Nathan Broadhead scored in stoppage time. IOt was a welcome result after a poor showing at the 2022 World Cup and Wales have solid ground to build on coming into this game. They haven’t won in their last nine matches and will be keen not to make it 10, and to get there, they will have to work on their defence, which has seen just one clean sheet in the last 10 matches. Meanwhile, they’ve conceded two or more goals in five of the last nine matches. Wales have however done better in the European Championship qualifiers, going unbeaten in the last six. It is even better at home; they haven’t lost in 11 home matches in this competition, winning eight, and they’ve scored twice in three of the last five.
Latvia are playing their first game of these qualifiers and will be gunning for a good start. They played a friendly match against the Republic of Ireland before this game, and lost 3-2. That was their fifth straight outing without a win, but they have managed one on post-match penalties in the Baltic Cup. This will be their toughest challenge in the last five matches though. One area that Latvia have shown strength is in attack – they’ve scored in each of their last 12 matches. However, they have no clean sheet in their last five games, with both sides scoring in that run. The last time they played a Euro Championship qualifier, was in 2019, and Latvia had a shock 1-0 win over Austria. They will hope to start off in the same breath, but they have a really poor run in this competition. In their last 21 matches in Euro qualifiers, they have just one win. In their last 11 matches in this competition, Latvia have suffered 10 losses.

Wales & Latvia Squad Analysis
Wales are no longer with Gareth Bale after the former Real Madrid man announced retirement. They will however have the experienced Aaron Ramsey, the new skipper to inspire the team. Wayne Hennessey, Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson are all out with injuries.
Latvia haven’t reported any injuries to their players and should be coming inro this game on full strength, with this being their first game of the group. Much of their threat in attack will be expected from Serie A – based Raimond Krollis, who recently joined Spezia.

Our Wales vs Latvia Prediction
Wales go into this game as the favorites but they need to improve their defending. They are without a win in nine matches and this may be working against them in terms of confidence and it will be tough against Latvia who have been consistent in attack. We don’t expect Wales to fail to score here though so our prediction for Wales v Latvia is for both teams to score.
