Wales manager Ryan Giggs says that Wales aren't after revenge on the Republic of Ireland for knocking them out of the World Cup but very few people believe him.  The Welsh side had gone through their qualifying campaign unbeaten but lost their last match to Ireland and finished third in the group. Wales drew five of their ten World Cup qualifiers and can't afford to do that again in this League B European Nations League group that also includes Denmark. A lack of goals is another problem Giggs has to solve, take away the 6-0 win over an outclassed China and the Welsh have only scored twice in their last six games. The last five at home have seen only four goals scored and of their last 13 internationals, only that 6-0 win had more than 2.5 goals scored in the game.

Ireland didn't make it to the World Cup finals as they lost to Denmark in the play-offs, so they might be after a bit of revenge too later on in this group. They have only won one of their last five games, a home friendly victory over the USA. Away form has never been their speciality and they come into this game with only one win in the last five. Goals on the road are a problem too with none in the last three and only four in the last seven and will be without striker Shane Long for this game. Both teams will be looking for a good start in this competition as they bid to win promotion to League A and dread the possibility of relegation to League C. A bet on under 2.5 goals being scored is the suggestion.
