Wales take on Finland in one of the Euro 2024 Championship Playoff games, with a home game against either Poland or Estonia lying in wait for the winner. The Welsh already knew that they had a Nations League spot based on their Nations League performance but two draws in their final two games against Armenia and Turkey meant that they would have to qualify via this route. The Welsh are unbeaten in their last six games, drawing three of those, and winning the other three, including a memorable 2-1 win over Croatia in Cardiff last October. Rob Page's team will have a huge advantage with the game being played in Cardiff where they have lost just one of their last six games and where they enjoy vocal support at the National Stadium. The home team are looking to qualify for their third European Championship Finals in a row.

Finland come into this game on the back of two wins in their last two group stage games, including a 4-0 home win over Northern Ireland, whom they also beat 1-0 in Belfast on Matchday 2 of the qualifiers. That result will be one Wales will be well aware of heading into this game. The Finns chances of qualifying automatically from their group evaporated with three defeats in a row from Matchday 6 to Matchday 8, but they finished third in Group H, a credible performance behind Slovenia and Denmark. They have won three away games in the group stage, at San Marino, Kazakhstan and Northern Ireland, but Wales are a level or two above these teams and should provide a stern test for the Finns, especially on home soil.
