PSV Eindhoven travel to Waalwijk for a Saturday fixture against RKC in the Eredivisie this weekend. Second in the table, PSV, seeking their first title since 2018, are three points behind leaders Ajax. Waalwijk, meanwhile, are 12th in the table with 12 points from 12 games. The home side are coming off the back of their first defeat in four games, going down 2-0 to Groningen last weekend. While they are undefeated in two matches on their patch, Waalwijk are yet to keep a clean sheet in a home match this season. PSV won their most recent outing, a midweek victory over De Graafschap in the Dutch Cup. It extended their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions, seven of which have been victories. Although that streak is impressive, PSV's away form in the Eredivisie is nothing to write home about. The Dutch giants have failed to win four of their last five away games in the top flight. Given that they have lost three of their previous four matches at Mandemakers Stadion, we think this match could be tricky for them.
Despite PSV's lofty position in the table, they have not always been convincing this season. Their best players have been in defensive positions, with Philipp Max being the standout. That isn't to say that PSV don't offer an attacking threat; they have scored at least two goals in their last four matches. Only Ajax and Feyenoord have scored more goals than PSV in the Eredivisie this season. The visitors are understandably the favourites to win this match. However, we suggest backing both teams to score instead, an outcome that has occurred in five of PSV's last six away games in the Eredivisie.
