A win for fifth placed Vitoria Guimaraes this weekend will take them into the Europa Conference League. They host Gil Vicente who are 14th in the table but safe from relegation. Vitoria begin the weekend four points clear of seventh placed Chaves. Fifth and sixth place takes a side into the Europa Conference League next season. There's no hope of finishing any higher than fifth as they trail fourth placed Sporting by 20 points with just two games remaining. The home side have won their last three league games and will be confident of making it four this weekend. They will want to get qualification confirmed as their final match is away at Porto. Nine home league games have been won this season but it's been a struggle in recent weeks. One point was earned from three home fixtures without them scoring. Their form improved though with their last home match against Vizela being won 3-0. 

Gil Vicente are only two places above the bottom three but have no relegation worries. 11 points separate them from the drop zone so they are safe and with little to play for. Their last league game was a 3-1 home win over Boavista. That was needed because only two points had been earned from the eight played before that victory. Six of those matches saw them fail to score a goal. Away lleague form this season has seen Gil Vicente win four but lose 11 times. They are really struggling at present with the last five all being lost. With little to play for, Vitoria can get a home win here.
