Vitesse had a bad 5-1 defeat at fourth placed Utrecht at the weekend but they go into this game in sixth place and with a good chance of makiing it into the Europa League next season. They are only five points clear of their opponents who are in ninth so this is a game where the three points could have a major influence on who qualifies for the Europa League. Vitesse have only lost one of their last eight home league games and in their last home fixture earned a 3-2 win over second placed Ajax. Home form is goiing to be vital for Vitesse in the run-in as they have now gone three away league games without a win. Overall this season they have won five out of 13 home league games but only lost three times.

Heracles are in ninth and four points adrift of the Europa League places so a win here will put them right in the reckoning for qualification. Away form is a  major worry for them though with only one league win on the road all season. 13 away league games have produced just six points and they owe a home record of nine wins in 14 for their high position in the table. Heracles  ended their search for an away league victory in theiir last match on the road but that was against bottom of the table Roda. Before that they had  gone 13 away league games without a win and this season have conceded 34 away league goals and have conceded at least twice in an away game on nine occasions. Vitesse can get the home win here to strengthen their Europa League quailfication hopes.
