Villareal will face a big test this weekend in La Liga when they play host to Real Sociedad on Saturday evening. The hosts are currently in 12th place in the league standings, while the visitors are sixth. Villareal will come into this match in a good mood after securing their place in the knockout rounds of the Europa League in midweek. They held Maccabi Haifa to a 0-0 draw, leaving them on 10 points and second in the group, six points clear of Panathinaikos with one match to go. Domestically, though Sociedad has won only one of their last four away games (W1 D2 L1), and need all three points here to keep the pressure on the sides above them. The visitors lost 2-0 here last season but are fancied at the books in this one.
