A top of the table clash in La Liga and one leaders Real Madrid would love to see end in a draw. Barcelona start the year three points behind Madrid. After a slowish start to the season with some poor home results, Barcelona have picked up in recent weeks and have gone nine league games unbeaten. Their year didn't get off to a great start though with a 2-1 loss to Athletic Bilabo in the Copa del Ray. They do have the best away record in the league with six wins, a draw and one defeat at Celta Vigo and have won three of their last four on the road. Villarreal have a great home record, in fact it's the same as Barcelona's away record and they have only conceded five goals in eight home league games. December did see them lose at home to Alaves who are 12th in the table. Barcelona won't want Villarreal to make any ground up on them and can get a narrow win here.
