Villarreal are down to seventh in La Liga after a midweek defeat at Eibar. This weekend they host Athletic Bilbao who are a place and a point below them in the table  The home side had a Halloween horror on Thursday evening. They went a goal down at Eibar, equalized in the 88th minute but then conceded a 95th minute winner. That was their fourth league defeat of the season. Five games have been won and they are only two points off the Europa League positions and five behind leaders Barcelona (but played a game more). Villarreal had won two games in a row before that loss on Thursday. Home form has seen Villarreal unbeaten in the league this season with three wins and two draws. The goals have been flowing for sure with 17 scored in five home league games, the second best record behind Barcelona. They have scored nine in their last two home league games.

Athletic Bilbao have made a better start to the new season than they did last term. They have won four of their 11 league games with four draws and three losses. They have only scored 11 league goals this season but just seven have been conceded. Current form isn't great though with only one win in their last five league matches. That came in midweek when beating Espanyol 3-0 at home. The beaten side are one from bottom in the table, this match at Villarreal is much tougher. Athletic Bilbao have yet to win an away La Liga match this season with thee draws and two losses. Go for Villarreal to put their excellent home form to good use and get the three points here.
