Villarreal are fighting it out for a Europa League place and need to bounce back from a shock 1-0 loss at bottom of the table Malaga last weekend. Fifth and sixth in La Liga go into the Europa League next season but Villarreal are only a point clear of seventh placed Seviila but are struggling for form at present with three defeats in their last five league matches. Home form has been good this season with eight wins and they beat second placed Atletico Madrid in their last home match, a repeat of that performance would be greatly desired this weekend.

Their opponents are 12th in the table but with no chance of European qualification or relegation so not much to play for at present. They come into this game in poor form with one win in their last four league games and a recent Europa League exit. Their only recent wins have been against bottom of the table Malaga and 14th placed Leganes and both were at home. Away form has been terrible of late with no wins in their last six league games and they have lost the last four without scoring. With just three away wins and eight defeats, this looks booked for a Villarreal home win.
