Iceland’s Vikingur plays host to Andorra’s Santa Coloma in their next Conference League match this Thursday. The two sides started their European seasons in higher competitions but here they’ll be seeking first leg head-starts. Follow on for our prediction of this match.

Vikingur’s journey continues after their Champions League exit in the 1st qualifying round. They’ve negotiated the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the Conference League, eliminating Egnatia and Flora to get here.

However, their six-game unbeaten run was halted in their last outing, as they fell at home to ÍA in their domestic league. Vikingur aren’t on a consistent run in the Conference League but come here unbeaten in the last three matches.

They lost just once in five in the competition while they have three wins in five at home.

Santa Coloma have been poor in their recent matches and as a result, paid dearly with consecutive eliminations from European competitions. They managed to scrape through the 1st qualifying round of the Champions League against Ballkani.

In the second they lost 4-0 on aggregate against Midtjylland to drop to the Europa League. It wasn’t any better there, as they met Rigas, and lost on aggregate 9-0. In their most recent match, away to Rigas, they were thumped 7-0.

Heading into a second straight away match, the Andorran side will be hoping for a positive result in Europe finally. They have failed to score in any of their last four matches, all which ended in defeats. Santa Coloma have just two wins in their last nine matches.
