Argentine side Velez Sarsfield hasn’t had a great run so far in the season, and as they host Uruguayan side Nacional in the third game of Group C in the Copa Libertadores, they will be hoping for a rise. The two sides occupy the bottom slots in the group, with a point each, Velez Sarsfield being bottom with an inferior goal difference. In their last six matches, Velez Sarsfield have no win; they’ve only managed one win in the last 10 games. They are coming from a 1-1 draw with Barracas Central in their domestic league, some improvement after the earlier loss to Central Cordoba and this form will be the cause for major worry for coach Julio Vaccari. Nacional have had a much calmer time in the run up to this game and will feel they finally have an opportunity to rise into the top two slots. They go into this game right from a 2-0 away win over Cerro Largo, a result that marked their fourth straight unbeaten game and third clean sheet in four matches. Nacional have however failed to score in two of their last five matches. They have two losses in the last 10 games but they’ve registered just three wins in that period. Two back to back away wins will give them hope going into this game and they’ve scored 10 goals in the last five away matches will boost their confidence though there’s a feeling they will have to do more, having won just two of the five matches and all the goals coming in three matches. It is particularly worse for them away from home in this competition, as they have no win in the last six and failed to score in five while suffering four losses in the last five away matches in the competition.
